National Finals Rodeo (NFR)
- Overview: The NFR is often called the “Super Bowl of Rodeo” because it is the most prestigious sport in professional rodeo. It determines the world champions in various rodeo events such as bull riding, bareback riding, steer wrestling, team roping, saddle bronc riding, tie-down roping, and barrel racing.
- Location: The event traditionally occurs at the Thomas & Mack Center on the University of Nevada, Las Vegas campus.
- Time of Year: It is held annually in December and runs for ten days.
- Activities: Besides the main competitions, the NFR features a variety of festivities, including cowboy Christmas, an extensive shopping and entertainment expo, autograph sessions, and more.
For many years, the rodeo pinnacle was predominantly defined by the PRCA, which proudly presented the crème de la crème of rodeo champions at the NFR. Since relocating to Las Vegas, Nevada, in 1985, this grand event has showcased the top fifteen monetary achievers across seven rodeo disciplines.
